It’s that time of year again to clean out your room… NOT! It’s time to vote for your favorite DJ of 2008. Who will top this year’s chart? Who will be rejected by DJmag for not playing by the rules?
Since the last Top 100 DJ poll house and bands have been evolving and recreating. Creating what I thought was electro house then soon turned electronic and the real kicker here ‘BlogHouse’! WTF? One has to ask are the Crookers as much as a dj like Paul Van Dyke or BadBoyBill?
If this DJmag poll starts to circulate like a tornado in the blog era, we might see some unfamiliar DJ and genres on the top of the charts.

/////////// Tired of the same old charts by John Digweed? Ever feel the dj chart list was based on sponsor ship and not true love for the track? Forget the other DJ’s create your own unique dj chart list at juno.co.uk read more…
Now, pioneering dance music web stores Juno Records (http://www.juno.co.uk) and Juno Download (http://www.junodownload.com) have introduced a unique, user-generated system for bringing DJ charts into the web 2.0 age. A new feature on Juno’s web sites allows DJs to build charts instantly, using a one-click system that allows access to every available new dance release. The DJ can then publish his chart and distribute it by e-mail, link them to their Myspace or Facebook page, or tag them on bookmark sites like Delicious, Digg, StumbleUpon and Reddit.
The new system has already proved popular, with charts created by big-name DJs like Jerome Sydenham, Mark Farina, Rolando, Dan Curtin and Rui Da Silva. But unlike traditional DJ charts features, access isn’t limited to superstar DJs – any user can create a chart. Some of the most interesting charts have come from unknown DJs picking eclectic selections of lesser-known gems that would often go un-noticed. [undergroundvibez]

HARD Hunted Mansion / Friday 10.31.2008 / Halloween Party / Los Angeles
Soulwax / Simian Mobile Disco / Deadmau5 / Boys Noize / Crystal Castles / Crookers / Steve Aoki / and more…
WOW! Imagine if the people of HARD could lure Daft Punk and Justice for this show! I would give my left nut but lucky I don’t have too. I creamed my pants when I found this email in my SPAM box of all places!
Tickets are $45 bucks but if the talent don’t call in sick like ‘Kid Sister’ at the last event then this is well worth the buck. Good Music, Halloween, and fucken Electro, bloghouse or whatever you want to call it!

I remember surfing a friends OnDemand music channel and saw Kid Sister ‘Pro Nails’, boy was I hoping all over the place. I wasn’t as thrilled to see Kanye West but the video was pretty fresh with dancing fingers everywhere.
Good news is, her debut album is going into production much sooner then expected. Having canceled her appearance at the HARD festival in LA to get the project rolling even faster. The release date is marked for 9.23.08 labeled ‘Dream Date’ on Fool’s Gold.

DJ Gee Papa from Cyprus has made it into the Guinness Book of Records for the longest DJ marathon of 116 hours.
The current record stood at 88 hours which George Papapetrou, a.k.a DJ Gee Papa, claims to have broken before when he played non-stop for 105 hours at Limassol’s Nautical Club last year. However there was no representative from Guinness present to register it so he had to do it again.
The 34 year old was allowed a five minute break every hour and if he did not take the break then he could accumulate the minutes for later, which he did at one point so he could sleep for two hours.
The proceeds from the event will go toward helping the victims of last year’s fire disaster in Greece. [MixMag]

Paul Oakenfold has confirmed his residency in Las Vegas will start in autumn.
