Word on the street that this a fake Apple application for the iPhone. Dang I got PUNKED!

Justice + Garageband = BanginBeats!

As one of the most hyped duos in electronic music it’s only natural that people want to know the tools of Justice’s trade, perhaps in an effort to emulate their success. When first starting out, budding producers will often dip their toes into the water with some of the more rudimentary software packages around, like Fruity Loops, Reason, or Mac’s popular GarageBand program.

In a recent interview with Pitchfork, Justice let everyone in on a little secret; they produce all their music, including their critically acclaimed 2007 debut album †, on GarageBand. “It’s amazing,” Xavier de Rosnay said. “A lot of people think it’s bullshit when we say we use GarageBand, but it’s actually an amazing tool.” [inthemix]

Juno.co.uk / Your SuperStar DJ Chart List!

/////////// Tired of the same old charts by John Digweed? Ever feel the dj chart list was based on sponsor ship and not true love for the track? Forget the other DJ’s create your own unique dj chart list at juno.co.uk read more…

Now, pioneering dance music web stores Juno Records (http://www.juno.co.uk) and Juno Download (http://www.junodownload.com) have introduced a unique, user-generated system for bringing DJ charts into the web 2.0 age. A new feature on Juno’s web sites allows DJs to build charts instantly, using a one-click system that allows access to every available new dance release. The DJ can then publish his chart and distribute it by e-mail, link them to their Myspace or Facebook page, or tag them on bookmark sites like Delicious, Digg, StumbleUpon and Reddit.

The new system has already proved popular, with charts created by big-name DJs like Jerome Sydenham, Mark Farina, Rolando, Dan Curtin and Rui Da Silva. But unlike traditional DJ charts features, access isn’t limited to superstar DJs – any user can create a chart. Some of the most interesting charts have come from unknown DJs picking eclectic selections of lesser-known gems that would often go un-noticed. [undergroundvibez]

World’s Biggest Subwoofer / Feel The BASS?

Danley Sound Labs has unleashed the Matterhorn Subwoofer to the US military, which they claim is the world’s biggest to date. It repurposes a 20 x 8 x 8 foot shipping container as its enclosure and requires 40,000 watts of power.

The military uses these types of speakers to simulate battlefield action, but with the Matterhorn’s specs, they appear to be training for Thermonuclear War. [FutureMusic]

Tidy Records / Stabs Vinyl *Ouch*

The hard dance label, Tidy, formerly known as Tidy Trax, has ceased manufacturing vinyl records.

The UKs leading hard dance label has released over 250 tunes on vinyl records but from now on will release a monthly unmixed double CD at £8.99 containing all their new tracks and remixes.

To mark the end of a successful era, the last general release available on Vinyl will be Tidy259T (Jon BW – Alpha), and five test presses of the last ever vinyl product manufactured through the Tidy label, Tidy260T (Kym Ayres – Take It Easy) will be made available on eBay over the coming weeks.

ATTIGO TT / Touch Screen Turntable / !?!

(Either JavaScript is not active or you are using an old version of Adobe Flash Player. Please install the newest Flash Player.)

Vinyl mixing was murdered a few years ago and laptop mixing wasn’t even given a chance before someone slammed it’s LCD face into the ground as well. Folks let me introduce the touch screen turntable.

Technology! Wow. If you think about it, a touch screen turntable makes sense. We all said vinyl is dead but we sort of forgot it’s handy side kick, the turntable. Although with a turntable like this I’m not sure we can still call it a turntable, it doesn’t really ‘turn’. Slide, yes, Sildetable? Touchtable? Wavetable?

I’m sure the guys at Technics are scrambling to get on top of this one. If not, they might as well kiss their empire goodbye.

djay / First Ever Multi-touch Scratching & Mixing software

djay
djay software debuts first multi-touch trackpad scratching & mixing software for Apple’s Macs.

Moving your fingers up and down will scratch the record (wekka, wekka) like scratching a record on a turntable.
Moving your fingers left or right will move the cross fader accordingly.

Pretty SWEET!! I can’t wait for every thing on a dj mixer to become multi-touch!
