Oh boy! Let’s play the game of “What’s wrong in this picture?” You got it. It seems as if one of the fellows in duo group Justice is grooving to the beats but wait shouldn’t the controller be plugged in? Justice sets are not so ‘live’. Can San Francisco pull the ultimate New Year’s party out of it’s ass? Justice has already been confirm for the ‘Number 9′ NYE event in Chicago. Not to say, Justice can’t pull world wide stops New Year’s Eve like Paul Oakenfold. The Thievery Corporation is on the bill for Sea of Dreams, weren’t they here last month? As with this past year, LA, Las Vegas and New York will leave SF in the dust. Let’s hope not.

According to Netherlands site dance.blog.nl the DJMAG results slated for release on Wednesday have been leaked! The full 100 list of voted DJ’s can now be viewed on their site. Here are the top 20 dj’s that I’m not too thrilled about. Armin Van Buuren holds on to his title as the World’s No.1 DJ for 2008. Deadmau5 jumps for his life and lands on spot 11 compared to his debut spot 164, Congrats.

Frankie Knuckles Loses His Foot / Not Leg!
Frankie Knuckles branded internet rumors that he’s recently had a leg amputated as ‘scuttle-butt’ this week, explaining instead that doctors cut off his foot.
“What was inevitable came to fruition on July 3rd. I didn’t lose my leg but I did lose my foot. It was necessary because the disease was beginning to travel up my leg, threatening my heart,” he explained. “I didn’t have a problem losing my foot. After all, I still have another. But I did have a problem losing my life. This is the only one I have,” he added. [inthamix]

9 Deaths In Sunny Ibiza / Whoa…
A 25 year old Scottish man collapsed and died in his Ibiza hotel room last weekend after over-dosing on alcohol and drugs, the Glasgow Herald reported this week.
The Herald said Paul Burns was the 9th holidaymaker to die in San Antonio this season and the third fatality in a week, prompting a despairing response from local tourism chief Jose Ramon Serra.
23 year old Brit Michael Robertson died in the budget resort two weeks previously after also overdosing on ecstasy, alcohol and cocaine, two months after a 19 year old Brit died in July after taking 7 ecstasy pills and cocaine (according to the Daily Mail). Read More @ CityBeat Radio

DJ AM, Travis Barker Expected to Recover from Plane Crash Injuries
Travis Barker, former Blink-182 drummer and current (+44) sticksman, and Hollywood man-behind-the-decks DJ AM, a.k.a. Adam Goldstein, are expected to fully recover after suffering second- and third-degree burns when their private Learjet crashed on takeoff from an airport in Columbia, South Carolina, Friday night. Four others died in the crash. Both Barker and Goldstein are in “critical but stable” condition, said Dr. Fred Mullins, director of Joseph M. Still Burn Center in Augusta, GA, where the two are being cared for, Billboard.com reports. [SPIN]

Joseph Biden / Obama / RAVE Act Creator
Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama has selected RAVE Act architect Joseph Biden as his running mate for this November’s elections, in an ominous development for US nightlife. Senator Biden became infamous amongst clubbers in 2002 when he attempted to criminalise glow sticks and bottled water and single-handedly manipulated the RAVE Act into law.
“Senator Joe Biden (D-DE) forced the controversial legislation commonly known as the “RAVE” Act through both houses of Congress as an attachment to an unrelated child abduction bill,” civil liberties group the Drug Policy Alliance reported in 2004. “The “RAVE” Act gives the government even more power to harass and arrest innocent musicians, promoters, venue owners, and fans – all in the name of the War on Drugs,” the DPA added.
